Edward Wayne "Buck" Turner

Wayne "Buck" Turner passed away from this life on July 7, 2014 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was 86 years old.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church, 425 Antioch Road, Humboldt, TN. Visitation will be held at the church at 1 p.m. with the service to follow at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Dr. Bill Espy and Rev. Frank Kemper will officiate the service.

Buck was born July 15, 1927 in Madison County. He was the son of the late Samuel Edward Turner and the late Hazel Rhodes Turner.

Buck attended the Fairview School System, Three Way, TN. He was a life long member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served his Lord proudly. He was a deacon for many years, served as Training Union Director and served on the Antioch Cemetery Committee until his death. Buck retired in 1996 from Citiplate after 38 years of dedicated service. Buck lived most of his adult life in the Three Way Community, helping to organize and implement the Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the Fire Department until his health prevented him from serving any longer. Buck also enjoyed gardening and maintained a garden throughout the years. He had a love of old Farmall tractors that he shared with his family.

Buck leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 62 years, Louise Leslie Turner of Three Way, TN; one daughter, Patricia Turner Chambliss of Humboldt, TN and his "favorite son-in-law" Tom Chambliss of Humboldt, TN. Buck is also survived by five grandchildren, Leslie (Grant) Spegal of Humboldt, TN, Tara (David) Brown of Olive Branch, MS, C.J. Chambliss of Humboldt, TN, Tommy (Brooke) Chambliss of Jackson, TN and Justin Brown of Humboldt, TN. Buck leaves to cherish his memory; four great grandchildren, Lynzee Spegal, Kaysi Brown, Hunter Brown and Hailee Chambliss. In addition he leaves a brother, Garland Turner and wife Sherry of Milan, TN; as well as nieces and nephews, Mary Alice Antwine, Earl Wayne Craig, Sammy Craig, Cindy Acree and Michelle Eaton.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Belle Turner Craig of Humboldt, TN.

Buck was a loving husband, caring father, devoted brother and faithful friend. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain.
