Carmen Jane Stevens, 83
Carmen Jane Stevens, 83, of Delphi passed away Sunday January 13, 2013 at 11:34 AM at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born March 3, 1929 in Delphi to late Charlie J. and Ethel (Benefiel) Randle. She was a 1947 Graduate of Delphi High School.
Her 1st marriage was to Wayne Myers in January 1948 and they had 3 children: Michael Myers of Delphi, Randle Myers (wife: Rebecca) of Rockfield, and Mary Carol Sparks (husb: Larry) of Kokomo. Her 2nd marriage was to Charles Reef in Radnor in 1962 and he preceded her. Her 3rd marriage was to Gordon Leigh Stevens in Delphi on April 21, 1985. She had 2 stepchildren: Gordon Lance Stevens (wife: Joanne) of Newark N.Y. and Iris Marie Ausban (husband: Dean) of Battleground. She is also survived by a sister, Carol Lou Oliver (husband: Robert) of Delphi and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by a brother, Charles "Bill" Randle.
She had worked at the A&P Grocery, Wyncoops Pharmacy, "Coys" Ben Franklin, Mounts Hardware, Kroger's, and Johns Liquor Store, all in Delphi.
She was a member of the Delphi VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, the Delphi Art Club, and the Lafayette Moose Lodge.
She loved to decorate and paint gourds, needlecraft and making crafts.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the 1:30 p.m. service on Wed., Jan. 16, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi with Pastor Marty Waite officiating. Entombment will be in The Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Special Olympics or the CDC.
