Dallas Anderson, 87
Dallas Anderson, 87, of Monticello, died at 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Whispering Pines.
He was born November 27, 1925 in Nashua, New Hampshire to the late Dallas Anderson Sr. and Blanche (Blasey) Anderson Hanson. He married Marjorie Wilhite on September 11, 1949 in Peru and she survives.
Dallas was a 1944 graduate of Bloomington High School. He moved to Monticello in 1962 and has lived here since then. Prior to living in Monticello, he also lived in Wabash and Peru. He attended the Monticello United Methodist Church and was employed by Essex Wire for 43 years, retiring from Bryan Manufacturing as the Plant Manager in 1987.
He loved working outside with flowers and was an avid stamp collector. He especially enjoyed time spent with family. He was a true family man.
He is also survived by his 2 daughters, Cheryl Gardiner of Monticello, Gloria (Alan) Mehringer of West Lafayette; 2 grandchildren, Gwendolyn (Daniel) Stattner of Cloverdale, Kirk Gardiner of Bloomington; 6 great grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Ethan, Eric, Adam, and Sara.
He was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 11am until time of services at 1pm, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Dodson officiating.
Burial will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear the loss of your dad. I know he had been struggling for a while now. Your family will remain in our prayers. I am not able to make the visitation at Garden Expo. I have a little plant for your garden at home.
