John R. Wilkins, 86
John R. "Bob" Wilkins, 86, of Mulberry, formerly of Lafayette and Weslaco, Texas, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at IU Health Arnett Hospital. Born on May 27, 1926, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Ronald J. and Genevieve (Sailor) Wilkins.
Bob married Joan Mae Armstrong on June 18, 1950, at the Oxford Presbyterian Church in Oxford, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 7, 2012. Bob was a 1944 graduate of West Lafayette High School and went on to attend Purdue University. He had worked in Building Services at Purdue University for 10 years, retiring in 1987. Bob was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
Bob is survived by a daughter, Joyce Pugh (husband, Steve) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and a son, Mike Wilkins (wife, Debbie), of West Lafayette; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Richard Lee "Rick" Wilkins, and a sister, Betty Jean Kelly.
Private family service to be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to Area IV Council on Aging in Tippecanoe County. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care.

Mike my sympathies are with you and your family. I know it must be hard to lose your father so soon after your mother. Their love must be strong for them to be reunited so soon. May you find comfort in that.
