Edward Loyd Lanham, 78

Edward Loyd Lanham, 78, of Delphi, died Tues.-Apr. 29, 2014 at 5:15am at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center-Delphi. He had been in failing health and a resident there for 2 weeks. He was born Mar. 9, 1936 in Bethelridge, KY, to the late Ernest & Myrtle Wesley Lanham. His marriage was to Emma L. Jaynes in Jellico, TN, on Aug. 23, 1954, and she survives. He received his GED from Hustonville High School in Bethelridge, KY. He worked at Indiana Grain in Logansport for 30 years, retiring from there. He worked in the agriculture business, mainly grain, for 40 years total. He was a former member of the Indianapolis Moose Lodge, a former member of the Elks Lodge in Dunkirk. He enjoyed NASCAR auto racing, drivers Tony Stewart & Kevin Harvick. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, playing softball, golfing, and the Chicago Cubs. He dearly loved his family. Surviving: wife-Emma L. Lanham of Delphi; daughters-Melody Hanaway of Flora & Anne E. Wilson of Maroa, IL; son-Dale E. Lanham of Cedar Lake; sister-Viola Ottinger of Williamsport; 4 grandchildren: Jessica & Chris Striegel, Cassie & Steve Breedlove, Candy & Davis Strong, Meg Lanham; 8 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a great-grandson; 3 sisters; 5 brothers; a son-in-law David Wilson. Services will take place at a later date. Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, in charge of arrangements.
