Marcelle Mae Cartwright Pattengale, 89

Attica - Marcella Mae (Brooks) Cartwright Pattengale, 89, formerly of Attica and Williamsport, passed away at the Hendricks Memorial Hospital, Danville, on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 5:45 a.m.

Marcella was born in Veedersburg, on February 17, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Elner and Maude (Smith) Brooks. She was raised in the Attica community and attended Rob Roy High School. She had lived for several years in Attica and Williamsport and for the past four years has lived in Danville.

Marcella formerly worked as a cashier for the Grab-it-Here and IGA stores. She later worked at Holloway House, Green Giant and Pillsbury in Lafayette, retiring in 1984.

She was a former member of the Attica Christian Church.

Marcella was first married to Paul Malcolm Cartwright on February 21, 1943, in Veedersburg. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1958. She later married Sylvester Pattengale on June 1, 1978, in Stone Bluff. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1978.

Marcella leaves behind a daughter, Donna (Jinx) Smith, Lucas, Texas; a son, Danny (Joy) Cartwright, Glasgow, Ky.; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Cartwright, Danville; six stepchildren; a sister, June Lefton, Attica; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, January 9, from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
