Rick Younker, 65,

Rick Younker, 65, of Sharpsburg, Ga., formerly of Buck Creek, passed away at Southwest Christian Care in Union City, Ga. on February 12, 2013. Born June 14, 1947, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Charles N. and Ila (Misner) Younker.

He was a 1965 graduate of East Tipp High School.

Rick was a packer and lead person at Fairfield Manufacturing for 41 years, retiring in June 2007. He then worked at the Family Express on State Road 25 for 4 years. He had also worked for 30 years at Market Square Bowling Lanes. He enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo and was a past member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge in Lafayette.

Surviving is his daughter, Crystal Hanson (husband: Tom), of Sharpsburg, Ga., with whom he resided; two brothers, Jeffrey Younker, of Buck Creek and Erle Younker (wife: Linda), of Punta Gorda, Fla.; his uncle, Ike Misner, of Buck Creek; two grandchildren, Hope and Kasie Hanson; four nieces; three nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Younker.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 16. 2013, at Hippensteel Funeral Home with Pastor Guy Brown officiating. Burial to follow at North Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Southwest Christian Care, 7225 Lester Rd. Union City, GA 30291.
