Jeff, Mark, Dale and Dan & families, I am so sad to hear of Herb's passing. He is such a memorable character and he has left such a mark on all of us who knew and loved both of your parents. His laughter and smile were always there with saddle club functions. I hope he and Lois have found their perfect horses in Heaven. I think of them both every time we have a meeting, missing both of them. May they both be at peace. Hugs to all of you.

Uncle Herb definitely was a great man. I think he was the horse whisperer, he would n't be shy to tell you whatever you asked of him. Because of him i can honestly say i can ride a horse correctly. he was definitely a fine man, go uncle Herb ride the sunsets with aunt lois. To all my cousins that was his sons please accept my deepest condolences, Dale, Jeff and Danny

Uncle Herb and Aunt Lois were such great relatives. We had such a great time as kids growing up visiting them on their farm and when we were adults we all got together once per year at a Holiday Inn for a family reunion. We had such fun times then. Aunt Lois and Herb will finally be re-united and in a better place. They will always be missed.

Some of my fondest memories are of Uncle Herb and Aunt Lois and riding horses at the farm. Uncle Herb always seemed bigger than life, but was so kind and gentle. It's been too many years since I've seen him, and for that I am sorry. I'd like to think that he and Aunt Lois are together again, riding into the sunset....

My Uncle Herb was always bigger than life to me as a child. He taught me how to ride horses and the best way ever to butter your corn. I can't count the number of amazing memories him, my Aunt Lois and their incredible boys gave me in my life. Always remebered, never forgotten.

Herb will be greatly missed by many in the Battle Ground Saddle Club where he was a major force for decades. He led countless trail rides at Brown County and many other places and was always one to lend a helping hand. He was a great help to me when I first joined and to many other newbies. I have many fond memories, including Herb and others pulling me and my young horse across a creek that he didn't want to cross and Herb using a stick horse to demonstrate something to several gals. We sure had some laughs that day.
