Dr. Everett Klontz

West Lafayette - Dr. Everett E. Klontz, 96, of West Lafayette, passed away at 8:02 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Creasy Springs.

The son of the late Harry E. and Edith (Staley) Klontz, born on August 28, 1921 in Akron, Ohio. His marriage of 49 years was to M. Catherine Burger on August 22, 1942 in Akron. Catherine preceded him in death in August of 91'.

Everett graduated from Akron East High School. He received his B.S. from Kent State, M.S. from the University of Illinois, and PHD from Purdue University. Professionally, Everett was a Professor of Physics for 46 years at Purdue University, retiring in 1992.

Everett honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946. He was involved with the Lafayette Symphony for 50 years.

He leaves behind three sons, David (wife: Pamela) Klontz of Lafayette, IN, Douglas (wife: Angela) Klontz of South Bend, IN, and Denis Klontz of Lafayette, IN; two sisters, Arlene Ealy of San Diego, CA and Beverly (husband: James) Dial of Akron, OH; one brother, Kenneth (wife: Joyce) KLontz of Wellington, OH; three grandchildren, Ryan Klontz, Meaghan Meyer, and Greta Harper; and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Everett is preceded in death by one grandson, David P. Klontz.

Graveside services will take place at a later date at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
