Bethel Sheets Obituary

Bethel Sheets, 77

Bethel Joy Sheets, 77, of Attica and formerly of Otterbein, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at her home. She was born, April 5, 1934, in Kentland, to the late William and Florence Lottie Simmons Burke. She married Clinton "Duke" Sheets, June 1, 1952 in Otterbein. He died March 4, 2012. She had worked for Benton Community School Corporation and Farmers & Merchants Bank. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, camping and was a member of the Battle Ground Saddle Club.

Surviving are 2 daughters; Debra Crane of Clarks Hill and Carolyn Freeland of Lafayette, 2 sons; James Sheets (wife Jill)of Attica, John "Jeff" Sheets (wife Pam),3 sisters; Shirley Whiteman of Otterbein, Corrine Scott of Sheldon, IL, Marie Calendar of Peoria, IL; brother, Robert Burke, of Lafayette and several grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Her husband, Clinton "Duke" Sheets, son Dennis Sheets, 5 brothers, William, Fred, Howard, Wesley & Baby Boy Burke & sister, Julia Plumondore precede her in death.

Visitation will be Monday, March 12, 2012, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, with Pastor Roger McDaniel officiating. Burial will be at Montmorenci Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Otterbein Area Volunteer Fire and Rescue or Battle Ground Saddle Club.
