Lafayette - Delmar R. "Hot Rod" Lamb

Delmar R. "Hot Rod" Lamb, 83, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at his residence in Lafayette.

Delmar was born January 23, 1935 in Lafayette to the late Floyd R. and Meredith (Brummitt) Lamb. He had a life-long passion for motorsports, earning himself the nickname, Hot Rod. He also loved keeping an active social life. He spent many evenings following his favorite bands. Delmar always kept his cowboy hat and dancing shoes in his car, so he was ready to dance at a moments notice. He particularly enjoyed his time at the Eagles Lodge, the Moose, and American Legion.

The majority of his career was spent at Peerless Wire and Lafayette Bank and Trust.

He is survived by children, Mark (Linda) Lamb of Westpoint and Wendy Isenbarger of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Renee (Chris) Macy, Eric (Shelby Pritchard) Lamb, Branda (Jesse) Hicks, and Avin Isenbarger; great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Colson, and Aiden; sister, Karen.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, David Lamb; long-time dance partner and loving girlfriend, Mari McDonald.

A visitation will take place on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Hippensteel Funeral Home. A graveside Service will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lafayette at 2:30 PM.
