Dennis W. Mahoney

Lafayette - Dennis Mahoney, 63, of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2019. He was born on December 14, 1955 in Franklin, IN to the late Carl L. and June (Bowers) Mahoney.

Dennis graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1973 and went on to graduate with a BS in Chemistry from Purdue University.

Dennis worked for Caterpillar for 25 years as a Chemist and worked for many years with emissions equipment before retiring in 2014. He had previously worked for Lafayette Pharmacal and the Purdue Chemistry Prep Lab.

Dennis was a member of Neighborhood Christian Chapel and the Class of 1973 Alumni Committee. He enjoyed working with computers, cars, photography, and genealogy.

Surviving are his brother, Kenneth (Peggy) Mahoney of Fort Wayne, IN and his niece and nephews, Christina, James, Jeffery, Kevin, Ryan, and Casey.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Harris.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 4 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel. Friends may call prior to the service from 2 to 4 p.m. A Private Burial will take place in Ever Rest Memorial Park in Logansport, IN.

Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette or to Purdue Christian Campus House in loving memory of Dennis. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. You may leave condolences and memories of Dennis online at www.fisherfuneralchapel.com
