Formerly Ambia - Donald R. Dwenger, 88, formerly of Ambia, died, Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born, March 13, 1930, in Ambia, to the late Theodore & Lena (Brost) Dwenger. He married Margaret (Albertson Mann) Dwenger, August 29, 1975, in Dunnington; she survives. He was a farmer & lived on the home place his entire life. He was also a truck driver, hauling grain & retired in 1995. He was a 1948 graduate of Ambia High School. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church & the Catholic Order of Foresters. He served in the US Army from Dec. 1948 to Sept. 1956; where he was stationed in Germany. Don enjoyed spending time with his Step-Children, Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren. He also enjoyed going fishing in Canada & watching Purdue Football & Basketball.

He is survived by his loving family; Wife, Margaret, Step-Children, Rebecca (Jerry) Houchens & Rick Mann, 3 Grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Baute, Dustan (Kelli) Houchens & Emily Mann, 6 Great-Grandchildren, Elizabeth & Tyler Baute, Isaac Frechette, Anee Frechette-Houchens, Harper Houchens & Kaden Donatone & Several Nieces & Nephews. He is preceded in death by 3 Brothers, Clarence, Urban & George & 3 Sisters, Lucile, Mildred & Marcella & 3 Nieces, Bette Jean, Carol & Linda

Visitation will be, Monday, July 16, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2960 S. State Road 71, Fowler, from 12 PM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 2 PM, with Father Peter Vanderkolk & Father Donald Gross officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, is assisting Don's Family.
