Lafayette - Dorothy was born March 23, 1924 in Dayton, Indiana to James Frederick and Dorthea (Hoshaw) Loft.

Dorothy was married to Richard Eugene Crider in 1945 with whom she had 4 children. Richard passed in 1959. After his passing Dorothy remarried in 1964 to Leo Westfall from Reynolds, Indiana. Leo passed in 1968. Dorothy remarried in 1971 to William Brown from Monticello, Indiana until his passing in 1973.

She graduated from Dayton High School in 1942; was a stay at home mom until the death of her first husband. She then went to work as a hairdresser supporting herself and her four children. After she remarried she went back to being a stay at home wife and mother.

Dorothy was very involved in her community. She volunteered for Indiana State Board for the Mentally Disabled Children from 1969 to 1978. She also served five missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: Two missions at the Washington D.C. Temple in Washington D.C., two missions at the Chicago Temple in Chicago, Illinois and one mission at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Family History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dorothy has four surviving children: Bill (Linda) Crider from Niles, Michigan; Carol (Gary) Allen from Battle Ground, Indiana; Becky (Doug) Crahan from Pensacola, Florida and Timothy (Shannon) Crider from South Haven, Michigan. Seventeen surviving grandchildren: Stephanie Crider; Scott (Nicole) Crider; Chad (Erica) Crider; Staci (Andrew) Mallo; Craig (Jennifer) Allen; Kirk (Candy) Allen; Kent (Kris) Allen; Kevin (Erin) Allen; Cory (Christina) Allen, Kyle (Kelly) Allen, Casey (Cerena) Allen, Clark (Beth) Allen, Heather (Lanny) Smartt, Hailey (David) Hurst, Courtney (Sam) Hobbs, Cody (Gabriela) Crider, Brody Crider. Fifty-one surviving great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; Ralph, Paul, James, Gerald, Delbert and Donald Loft. Two sisters; Elizabeth Carlson and Betty Clift, and one great-grandson

Visitation will be held Friday, July 13 at Hippensteel Funeral Home from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 14 at 1pm at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church, 3224 Jasper St. West Lafayette, IN 47906. Bishop Ryan Garner will officiate. Interment to follow at Montmorenci Cemetery.
