E. Virginia G. Marshall

Lafayette - E. Virginia G. Marshall, 97, of Earl Park, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital of Watseka, IL.

She was born October 13, 1920 in the Province of Pampanga, Philippines to the late Gregorio and Florentina S. (Rodrigues) Gathchalian. Virginia attend high school in the Philippines and later attended Saint Tomas University. Her marriage was to George M. Marshall on November 12, 1994 in Raub United Methodist Church; he survives.

Before residing in Raub, Virginia lived in Manila, Philippines for several years. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland, and Third Order Franciscan of Lafayette. During her time in the Philippines, Virginia was a Major with the Resistance Forces serving with the Armed Forces Western Pacific as Chief Stenographer during WWII. During her later years, she enjoyed quilting at Raub United Methodist Church.

Surviving along with her husband are children, Elizabeth Rivera, Victor Palma, and Philip Palma all from Manila, Philippines. Also surviving are several grandchildren.

Preceding her in death along with her mother and father are a daughter, Sarah Burgos; son, Felicimo Palma; two brothers and two sisters.

A Memorial Mass will be held during 5:00 (CST) Mass on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland.

Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's name to St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland or Raub United Methodist Women's Organization.
