Ina Ruth Lank Obituary
Ina Ruth Lank

Lafayette - Ina Ruth Lank, 79, of Lafayette, formerly of Brookston, passed away at 4:15 AM, December 3, 2018 at IU Health Arnett Hospital of Lafayette.

She was born April 25, 1939 in Vernon, KY to the late Smith Elmer Taylor and Lillie Mae (Dyer) Taylor. She was a 1957 graduate of Brookston High School. Ina also attended Ivy Tech Community College where she received a degree in accounting.

Her first marriage was to Larry D. McFall on December 21, 1957, they later divorced. She married Armand K. Lank on January 26, 1962 and they also divorced. Both Larry and Armand preceded her in death.

Ina grew up in Brookston and had lived in the Lafayette area her entire life. She attended the Brookston Church of Christ and Creasy Lane Church of Christ in Lafayette. Due to Ina's physical ailments, she was unable to work at many jobs. It was with great joy for her to find employment with McKinney's Flowers of Lafayette as a bookkeeper and receptionist for many years.

Ruthie loved to grow flowers in her garden at spring time and watching birds gather in her yard. She also kept entertained trying to outwit the pesky squirrels from getting into her many birdfeeders. An Avid reader, she would normally read 3 books a week, typically mystery novels. Ina also enjoyed crosswords, crocheting items for many friends and family members, an avid Alan Jackson fan, and loved supporting Purdue Women's Basketball.

Surviving are sons, Larry D. (wife: Linda) McFall, Gerald E. (wife: Bonnie) Lank, and Armand B. Lank. Brother, Ronald (wife: Della) Taylor of Milton, FL. Also surviving are grandsons, John P. McFall, Jason I. McFall, Christopher Lank, and Dalton Lank.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and late husbands are siblings, Judy McKee, Eugene Taylor, and James Taylor; and Granddaughter, Sarah E. McFall.

Friends may call from 10 AM (EST) until the time of Funeral Service 11 AM (EST) Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Interment to follow in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.

Although she contracted Rheumatoid Arthritis in her early 20's and Leukemia later in life, she never complained. Ina was an inspiration to others, when visiting with her she always wanted to know how you were doing and her concern was always sincere. Always in pain, Ina still worried about others and made sure nobody ever left her home with an empty stomach. Ruth led a true Christian life.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ina Ruth's name to the or .
