Lela Lucille Layman
Lela Lucille Layman, 95, formerly of Boswell, Indiana passed away at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Miller's Merry Manor, Peru.
Born May 13, 1918, near Chili, Indiana, she was the daughter of Oscar and Viola Martindale Musselman. On April 30, 1939 in Denver, Indiana, she was married to Zainard Price Layman, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2008.
Mrs. Layman was a member of the Boswell United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star at Otterbein, Indiana, and the Twelve Mile High School Class of 1936. Along with her husband, she was co-owner of Layman Farm Equipment where she also was the bookkeeper.
She is survived by one sister, Marjorie Tomson, Denver; one sister-in-law, Eva Gilbert, Peru, and fourteen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Velma Scott and Betty Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver with Pastor Jeff Tomson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boswell United Methodist Church. The online guestbook can be signed at www.mcclainfh.com.

Lucille was a very special person. She & Zainard were friends of my parents so have known her most of my life. She was a friendly, kind-hearted person and one of the most well-known and best liked people of our little town of Boswell. We'll all miss her smiling face.May she rest in peace. My condolences to her family.
