West Lafayette - Robert Dahnke, 85, of West Lafayette, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018.

Born February 28, 1933, in Battle Creek, MI, he was the son of Lewis B. and Hilemina (Oudshorn) Dahnke. He was a 1951 graduate of Freelandville High School in Freelandville, IN. He graduated from Rose Poly Institute of Technology in 1955 with a BS in Civil Engineering.

His marriage was to Marjorie Ann Kirchoff of Freelandville, IN, on August 8, 1953. Marjorie preceded him in death on June 1, 2005.

He was a member of the Lafayette Christian Reformed Church, where he served faithfully.

He was a contractor by trade operating Dahnke Building Services and Dahnke Overhead Door Company during the years of 1956 to 2012. Along with that he was a dairy farmer for many years.

He is survived by his four children, Stephen J Dahnke (wife: Anita) of Greenhill, IN., Theresa Dahnke Craig (husband: John) of West Lafayette, IN., Pamela K. Dahnke of West Lafayette, IN. and Robert J Dahnke (wife: Kim) of Lafayette; grandchildren, Shane Dahnke (wife: Tiffany), Tammy Ford, Nathan Dahnke (wife: Laken), Curt Craig (wife: Olivia), Katie Schnarr (husband: Fred), Julie Dispennett (husband: Doug); Betsy Dahnke, Kristen Johns (husband: Kyle), Blake Dahnke. He also has 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4pm-8pm Friday, September 14, 2018 at Lafayette Christian Reformed Church, 1200 Tippecanoe St, Lafayette, IN 47904. Funeral service will be 2pm Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Church with Reverends Mark and Ashley Bonnes officiating. Interment will be 1pm Monday, September 17, 2018 at Freelandville Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be directed to the Lafayette Christian School.
