San Antonio, TX - Wilfred "Bill" Wilken, 91, of San Antonio, TX formerly of Lafayette passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Roberts, IL on May 14, 1927 to the late Siebelt H. and Leila H. (Toogood) Wilken and was a 1945 graduate of Freeland Park High School. Bill proudly served in The U.S. Army from August 1945 - November 1946 and was stationed in Germany. On August 29, 1952 he married Florence Yochem in Oxford. They were married for 61 years until she preceded him in death on February 19, 2014. Bill retired from Centra Lab (North American Phillips) in 1989.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth (Jim) Vaughn and Linda Byfield, both of San Antonio, TX; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grand-children; a sister, Betty Smith of Saybrook, IL; and a brother, Willard Wilken of Fowler.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lewis and Verlyn Wilken and a sister, Gareta Lentz.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 12, 2018 with the Rosary at 7:45 pm at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Pkwy West, West Lafayette, IN 47906. Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, Friday, July 13, 2018 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1916 Meharry St, Lafayette, IN 47904. Entombment to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
