JACKSONVILLE - Ayako Yamamoto Stevens, 86, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Rev. Yasushi Nemoto officiating. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mrs. Stevens was a survivor of the atomic bomb from Hiroshima, Japan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Yutaka and Hideko Yamamoto; and two sons, Dennis Patrick Stevens and one infant son.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Allan Franklin Stevens of the home; three sons, Gene Stevens of Jacksonville, George Stevens of Snow Hill and Michael Allan Stevens of Jacksonville; two brothers, Hirofumi Yamamoto and Yoshinori Yamamoto, both of Hiroshima, Japan; and 13 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.
