Hubert - Dianne Mallard Beckwith, 64, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
She was born September 24, 1954, in New Bern, NC; daughter of the late Arthur H. and Carol Bryan Mallard.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Golden officiating. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Dianne loved children and was devoted to seeing them grow both as an educator in the Onslow County School system and in her church. Her career spanned 30 years and included serving at Richlands Elementary (now Heritage Elementary) and Morton Elementary where she received Teacher of the Year and retired in June 2014. Dianne was instrumental in launching the Daytime Preschool Ministry at Bear Creek Baptist Church. Dianne served as the chairperson for the church's Vision Advancement Team and was active in the Ladies Sunday School Class, Adult Choir and Ministry of Prayer.
She is survived by husband, Ted Beckwith of the home; brothers, Robert L. Mallard of New Bern, Larry W. Mallard of New Bern, and John W. Mallard of Charlotte; sister, Jan M. Hudson of Bogart, GA.
She was preceded in death by a brother, A. Bryan Mallard.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Bear Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 116 Great Neck Landing Rd. Hubert, NC 28539.
