Just finished re-reading Shooting at Loons, and googled Margaret Maron for a complete booklist. What horribly sad news to find her obituary! Her characters Sigrid and Deborah have entertained me for years. Margaret and her writing legacy are a gift to us all -- we mourn her loss but will savor her books many more times. My sincere condolences to her family. Memory eternal.

Margaret came to see me as a young dentist 25 years ago. She and her husband Joe are precious, she will be deeply missed not only in my office, but the world has lost a great novelist and a wonderful lady. I was blessed to have known such a great woman and family.

I am so very sorry to hear about Ms. Maron. I have enjoyed her books for years and have most of them still on my bookshelves. Just last year I re-read all the Sigrid Harald books and am currently working my way through the Deborah Knott series.

I’m sad about our loss of Margaret Maron. I met this wonderful lady at a book signing more than 20 years ago. She signed my book and we discussed our love for UNC and the Tarheels. She was so down to earth and friendly. I fell in love with her as well as her ‘Sigurd Harald’.
She will be missed.

She made you feel a part of the novel and like a member of their family listening to them tell their stories. I was introduced to her books by my sister, who was a librarian. She passed away in 2000 from cancer. They are both at peace and can read and tell stories together.
