I will miss you Dad. I have the deepest admiration and respect for your life's journey.
In recent years, I had begun to wonder who would retire first- me or Dad. I think Dad wins by default- he never did retire. When a flash flood swept thru his office complex earlier this summmer, I hoped that Dad would take that opportunity to finally call it quits. Dad didn't know what it meant to give up. He loved his work and as a Depression era survivor, he always seemed grateful for the opportunity to work and remain productive. One of his former patients made the comment to me, when it was obvious that Dad's days of serving his patients had come to an end, that this was the end of an era. The mold has been broken- there will never be another like him. Thank you for letting me share the journey with you- you were the best.

My wifes parents use to come from Winfield kansas to have the Dr. work on their feet. They so enjoyed visiting with him. He would always open up his thermos and share his coffee with us and find some candy for all of us.My father inlaw was in the navy the same time Dr. Elledge was and they enjoyed sharing stories. We liked talking about his puzzles. My wife and I would go with them to their appointment just so we could visit with him. We would bring him some fruit cake at Christmas. We will miss our friend, as he was one of the finest people I ever met. God bless you all and give you comfort.
