Ursula Mace Obituary

Ursula M. Mace (Née: Schoeffler) RACINE — Ursula M. Mace, age 60, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Lakeshore Manor. Ursula was born in Gernsbach Germany, January 25, 1952, daughter of the late Richard W. and Agnes (Née: Wimmer) Schoeffler. She came to Racine when she was one year old and attended Hansche Grade School, Starbuck Middle School and Case High School. On June 24, 1972 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Steven E. Mace who preceded her in death, September 9, 2003. After her marriage, she moved to Madison where her husband attended college and worked as a secretary to a group of lawyers until the birth of her first child. She then became an active and involved stay-at-home mother. After moving back to Racine when her children were young, she became ill and spent many years in nursing homes. Despite her infirmities she had a cheerful personality and a great love for children and animals. Survivors include her children, Stefanie (Steven) Kozina of Racine, Michael Mace of Chicago, IL; her grandchildren, Daniel, Jasmine, and Brennan Kozina; her great-granddaughter, Amalia Kozina; sister, Brigitte (Alan) Groth of Racine; brother, Richard F. (Jean) Schoeffler of Fitchburg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Ursula's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her second family….the staff of Lakeshore Manor and Dr. DeGroat for their loving and compassionate care.
