Allen, Gladys A., R.N. (Nee Leahy) Age 97. Passed away Nov. 25, 2011. Preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth. Beloved mother of three sons Richard J. (Lori McCoy), Harrison, AR, Thomas J. (Carol), Deeth, NV and Paul W. (Sharon Boyea) De Pere, WI. Also survived by her brother John Leahy, (Connie) of Milwaukee, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends. Gladys was also preceded in death by her brother, David Leahy and sister-in-law Mary Leahy. Gladys graduated from Holy Angels Academy in 1933, going on to study nursing at Misericordia School of Nursing. She graduated in the class of 1936. Gladys devoted her life to caring for others, especially her husband, Kenneth, and her three sons. Gladys worked at St. Francis Hospital for 15 years and the Milwaukee County Stadium First Aid Room for 21 years, retiring at the age of 79. Gladys was an avid fan of both the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. Gladys and Kenneth were married in 1937 and lived in West Allis until moving to De Pere, WI, in September of 2000. Special thanks to granddaughter Eve Boyea, R.N., and all the wonderful staff at Wyndemere. Visitation Monday, Nov. 28, from 4:30 to 8:00PM at Schaff Funeral Home, 5920 W. Lincoln Avenue, West Allis, WI 53219. Funeral Mass Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 10:00AM, at St. Mathias Catholic Church, 9306 W. Beloit Rd, Milwaukee, WI. Placed to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
