Edward W. Borchert

Borchert, Edward W. Passed to Eternal Life Tuesday, January 1, 2013, age 92 years. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Ziegler) whom he lovingly cared for over the last 7 years of her life. Dear father of Phillip (Nancy Maas) Borchert and Mary Ellen (Steve) Van Bommel. Loving grandfather of Amy Borchert, Timothy (Lora) and Daniel (Jessica) Van Bommel and great grandfather of Baylor and Ryan Van Bommel. Also survived by other relatives and many friends. Visitation at Redemption Lutheran Church (4057 N. Mayfair Rd.), Friday 4 PM until time of Masonic Service at 6 PM followed by a Lutheran service at 6:30 PM. Internment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Ed was a 1943 graduate of Marquette University with a degree in Engineering. Member of Excelsior Masonic Lodge #175, Scottish Rite Valley of Milwaukee, Tripoli Shrine Temple (Recorder Emeritus), Legion of Honor (Trustee), Tripoli Animals, Tripoli Motor Corps and Royal Order of Jesters #101 (Treasurer Emeritus). Memorials to the Scimitar Foundation or Tripoli Shrine appreciated. Ed proudly served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was especially proud of his membership and activities involved in the Masonic and Tripoli Shrine and all the treatments he was able to help provide for crippled and burned children through the Shrine Hospital system.
