John H. "Woody" Woodin

Woodin, John H. "Woody" Officially retired on Monday, October 29, 2012, at the age of 88. Loving husband of 61 years to the late Betty Woodin. Proud father of J. Scott (Carol Carr) Woodin and Wendy (LeRoy) Peche. Grandfather to Trevor, Erik (Lindsay), David (Kris) Carr, Ashley (Scott) Merritt, Maggie, Molly and Lauren Peche. Great-grandpa to Myiah, Alex, Eleanor, Callie, Tyson, Cameron, Laila and Isiah, as well as his canine companion Lucy. Also survived by his loving sister Jessie (Ken) Kent, other relatives and friends. Woody proudly served in WWII as a naval officer. He worked as an Acacia agent for 62 years along with investment and financial management with Ameritas Investment Corp. Throughout his career he received many honors and company awards. Woody enjoyed golf, traveling and curling. He was president of U.S. men's Curling Association and helped form the U.S. National Senior Association. A memorial celebration of Woody's life will be held at the Funeral Home Friday, November 2, 2012, from 2 PM until the time of service at 5 PM. Private family committal will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to a or Woody's favorite, Special Olympics.
