Marilyn A. Thunes

Thunes, Marilyn A. Of Wauwatosa, formerly of Menominee, MI, Green Bay, WI and Keshena, WI, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, in Wauwatosa, WI. Marilyn was born March 19, 1932, in Menominee, MI, to Waito W. Waltonen and Bessie Holland Waltonen Schaperkotter. On December 27, 1950, she married James Thunes in Menominee, MI and they had three children. In 1962, the family moved to the Green Bay, WI area. Marilyn was a homemaker until returning to school to earn her Associate's Degree in accounting. She worked at FMC in Green Bay, WI. There she headed up the Accounts Receivable Department until she and her husband retired to Legend Lake in Keshena, WI. Marilyn was active in her church and had been a Lutheran Girl Pioneer's leader. She enjoyed reading, camping, gardening, knitting, music, rosemaling and a love of dogs. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, James; her children Kerry (Wayne) Binnington, Jerry D. (Joyce) Thunes, and James W. (Kathy) Thunes; grandchildren Jamie Binnington, Aaron Thunes, Celesta Thunes, James R. Thunes, David Thunes and Michael Thunes; her brother Wally (Jewreen) Waltonen; nieces Kativa Waltonen Conroy, Mindy Waltonen, Monty Waltonen and nephew Marty (Joann) Waltonen; eleven great-nieces and nephews and four great-grandnieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Arlene J. Waltonen. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12, from 1:00PM until the time of memorial service at 2:00PM, at Luther Manor Faith and Education Center (North Entrance), 4545 North 92nd St., Wauwatosa, WI. Memorials may be made to the Luther Manor Foundation.
