Dear Bolender Family,
I used to work at Walgreens in South Milwaukee and in Cudahy many years ago, and I think it was in Cudahy I would wait on Mr. Bolender. He would bring in rolls and rolls and rolls of film ( this was before he was Mayor.)and he was always very particular about the pictures being done, and I remember when I first started waiting on him he would SCARE me a little bit because if the pictures werent done right he was a little angry and frustrated,(sometimes the photos would get lost or done wrong). But then once I got to know him and I knew what the pictures were for and how important the pictures were to him,and for his line of work, he was a PLEASURE to wait on. I remember asking what the pictures were for and when he told me I understood the importance. In my 20 some years with Walgreens I must say Mr. Bolender was one of my FAVORITE customers I took care of.I worked at alot of different stores in my 20 years and the customers I took care of in that time I remember the ones that meant the most and the ones you could talk to and when you saw them you could say "Hey Mr or Mrs.So and So, How are things going" and Mr. Bolender was one of those customers of mine.He always treated me with Respect. My Deepest Sympathy, Thoughts and Prayers go out to the WHOLE Bolender Family, I am so VERY SORRY for YOUR LOSS.
Sincerely,
Staci Maiman

Dear Bolender Family:
My deepest sympanty on the loss of Mayor Richard. I had the pleasure of working with him as the Mayor of Cudahy from 2004 to 2007. He always looked out for the people of Oak Creek, and fought for the good of the masses, other communities in the region.
If more "politicians" were cut out of the fine fabric mold that Dick was, something may actual get done for the good.
He was a truly honorable man, a man of his word, and also a fun and fine person to talk to.
We have all suffered a great loss with his passing! Please everyone, keep him, and his family in your thoughts and prayers!

My deepest sympathies to Chris, Michael & Lisa. Your family was the only family on our little corner with children. I mostly remember the costumes Chris made every year for Mike & Lisa to go trick or treating. Also my youngest son for all the time he spent on the Bolender farm, Dick was always letting them come over to the farm. We were neighbors for 20 some years, but as time has passed you find out life goes on, so prayers are out to you Chris, Mike & Lisa. Your old neighbor now living in Fl. Darlene Correll.

Christine, Mike & Lisa,
My deepest sympathies to you and your families.
None of us have to tell what a special person Dick was!!
I am proud and honored to have had the pleasure of knowing Dick, by being friends with Mike, back in the St. Sylvester's days.
I also had the chance to speak/discuss numerous topics with him, while at WTMJ-Radio, as well as with GO Riteway Transportation Group-Oak Creek.
He will be greatly missed.
GOD bless all of you!!

Christine & Family - Jane and I offer our sympathies to all of you on your loss of Dick. You probably don't remember us but I was responsible for the his hiring at Am. Family back in the late 60's in Milw. We transferred to Il. in '71, In. in 75 & then returned to my hometown of Marshfield in 1978 - Agt. for 7 yrs. & then started an Ind. Agency in 1985. I just retired in July selling the Agency to my son & son-in-law.
I have many good memories of our days playing softball together. Now both Dick and Jim Wink (probably many others who I am not aware of) have passed their earthly lives - all too soon. Again, our sympathies - Dick did well in life and am sure he passed on many of his fine qualities to his children who have obviously been very successful in life. May the Lord grant all of you strength in overcoming your tremendous unexpected loss. JIM & JANE SCHALOW M330 FELTON LANE MARSHFIELD, WI. 54449
