Flynn, George F. MD Resident of Mequon. Joined his wife of 53 years Rose Marie and daughter Patricia Rose in Eternal Life on April 10, 2013. Loving father of Terence (Mary Rose), Daniel (Linda), Kevin (Cindy Porter), Pamela (Jim) Zak and Brian (Cindy) Flynn. Proud grandfather of nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Further survived by other relatives and many dear friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15, from 10 AM until the time of the celebration of a Memorial Mass at 12:00 noon, at LUMEN CHRISTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2700 West Mequon Road, corner North Range Line Road, in Mequon. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dr. Flynn's name should be directed to Lumen Christi Catholic Church or the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Flynn received his Bachelors Degree in 1950 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, his Masters Degree in 1953 from Loyola University of Chicago and his MD in 1956 from the Marquette University School of Medicine. He served his internship at Milwaukee County General Hospital and his residency in general surgery at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Wood, Wisconsin. He was licensed by the State of Wisconsin in 1957 and had a private practice of surgery in Milwaukee for over 40 years. In 1967 Dr. Flynn founded the Bluemound Medical Center, Teamsters Clinic and MATD, now the Wisconsin Health Fund. Dr. Flynn was a member of the Medical Society of Milwaukee County, the State Medical Society of Wisconsin, the American Medical Association, the Milwaukee Academy of Surgery, the Milwaukee Surgical Society, the Wisconsin Surgical Society and the American College of Surgeons and its Wisconsin Chapter. Dr. Flynn was a member of the attending staff of Columbia Hospital and a Clinical Professor of Surgery of the Medical College of Wisconsin. During his career he trained hundreds of surgical residents. He also was a member of the Board of Directors of the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Flynn served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Columbia Hospital and was a past member of the Medical Council, Executive Committee and Governing Staff of Columbia Hospital. He was past president of both the Milwaukee Surgical Society and the Milwaukee Academy of Surgery and served on the Commission on Governmental Affairs and the Blue Cross-Blue Shield United Specialty Panel (General Surgery). George was an Eagle Scout. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Ozaukee Country Club for 42 years, where he had a hole in one. George and Rose treasured time spent with family, especially their family vacations, Sunday dinners and a good round of golf. The family wishes to thank George's wonderful caretakers Kari, Shirley, Charlotte, Tina and Tammy.
