Vinluan, MD, Alejandro Mondero Entered into the Peace of Eternal Life on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the age of 86. Husband for 59 years of Shirley Vinluan (NEE Meleski); loving father and father-in-law to: Jeffrey Vinluan and Marybeth Catoline of CO; Sharon Vinluan of WI; Jacqueline Vinluan and Daniel Murphy of WI; proud grandfather to: Derek Haight, Nicole Haight and Kiley Murphy; oldest and loyal brother to: Carmelita Tamondong, Benito Vinluan, Juana Vinluan, Josefina Ahmad and the late Ceferino Vinluan, Jr. Further survived by in-laws, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. He was also preceeded in death by his parents Ceferino and Juanita (Mondero) Vinluan. "Alex/Andring" as he was known, was born in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas. He came to the United States for a residency at St. Michael's Hospital and served a surgical residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital. In addition to his practice Alex served as Chief of Staff at various community hospitals throughout his career. Alex was a prominent leader in the Filipino community in Wisconsin. In 1967, he was one of the founding fathers of the Rizal Macarthur Memorial Foundation (RMMF). This non-profit organization supported and served various clinics and hospitals in the Philippines, including his hometown of Urbiztondo. He also served as past president for Philippine Medical Association of Wisconsin (PMA-W), Filipino American Association of Wisconsin (FAAWIS) and University of Santo Tomas Alumni Association of Wisconsin (USTAAW). Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 7 from 9:30 to 11:00 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 7600 N. Port Washington Rd, Fox Point, WI, followed by a mass at 11:00AM, and a reception to follow the service. Alejandro was laid to rest in Urbiztondo, Philippines.
