Maniaci, Arthur Arthur passed away peacefully on June 9, 2018 surrounded by his loving family, at Sunset Ridge in Jefferson, Wisconsin at the age of 88 years. Art was the cherished husband of Rose (nee Lembo) for 66 years. Beloved father of Marilyn (Larry) Krause; Angela (John Fetzer) Nyholm; Arthur; Lisa (Tom) Sasse; Rosalind (Kevin) Ackeret; Robert (Rocio); John (Casey); and Michelle (Chuck) Folk. Proud Nanu to 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Tina Fischer, Carmela Matysiak, Joseph Lembo, Mary Jane Banta (Richard Hornick) and Maria Maniaci. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Art will be greatly missed by his lifelong treasured friends, Joe and Mary Palmisano. Preceded in death by his parents, Nunzio and Rose (Mercurio) Maniaci; and his nine brothers, Joseph, August, Jack, Casey, Anthony, Theodore, Vincent, Angelo and Edward. Art grew up in Milwaukee and graduated in 1947 from Lincoln High School. He later served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Art was a chef for his entire career and is best known for the wonderful food and hospitality he and Rose provided for 25 years at Maniaci's Cafe Siciliano in Fox Point. Always a hard worker, in retirement Art worked part time at Catholic Financial Life. Art's primary focus and main joy in life was his family. He was happiest preparing and sharing family meals on special occasions. The family is grateful to the staff and caregivers at Sunset Ridge Memory Care and Marquardt Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Art and extends heartfelt thanks to the Rev. David Wanish and Dr. Mark Micek for their compassionate support. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14 at ST. DOMINIC CHURCH, 18255 W. Capitol Drive in Brookfield, from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM with Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Procession to Wisconsin Memorial Park for the Committal Prayers, Military Honors and burial to follow Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the of Southeastern Wisconsin appreciated.
