Catherine A. Werwath

Beloit - Catherine Augusta Werwath, 94, died peacefully in her Beloit, WI residence on June 26, 2020.

She was born on September 26, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI, to Julius and Mary (Krönstein) Bolfert. On August 20, 1949 she married the love of the life, Richard Werwath who preceded her in death in 2018. Residing in Milwaukee, together they raised three children and were members of the First Congregational Church in Wauwatosa. When Catherine's children were young, the phrase "Stay-at-home-mom" didn't exist. It was usual for the era, Catherine was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared deeply for her family, church community and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was and will be remembered fondly for her faith, strength, compassion and unconditional love.

Catherine is survived by her children, Paul Werwath, Joanne (Steven) Erkel, and David (Sandra) Werwath; grandchildren, Rachel Erkel, Christy (Brian) Dukelow, Trent (Halley) Werwath, Natalie (Andrew) Farthing, Whitney Werwath and Callie Werwath; great-grandchildren, Jameson Werwath, Eli Farthing, Emery Farthing, Grace Dukelow, Nathanael Werwath, Claire Werwath and Easton Farthing; numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 with the Rev. Steven Erkel and the Rev. Dr. Bill Trump officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa or the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Dear Joanne, Dave and all the Werwath family,

My deep sympathy on the death of your dear family matriarch. I fondly remember her beautiful, warm smile and devoted, caring presence in church and at PF activities. Years after our youth group days and life sent us all in different directions, your Mom always remembered me by name and warmly greeted me whenever we saw each other in church. She was a warm and caring woman. I was blessed to know her.
