Troglia, Charles Leonard March 24, 1949 - June 24, 2018 Charles L. Troglia, 69, beloved husband of Loesje Troglia, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 after a valiant struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Mr. Troglia was born on March 24, 1949 to the late Peter and Evelyn Troglia, in Milwaukee. He graduated from Bay View High School in 1966. He earned his bachelor's degree as a registered nurse in 1984 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, graduating with honors. Mr. Troglia's career took him throughout the United States, working in many of the nation's finest hospitals, including Santa Fe Indian Hospital, Tulane University Hospital, Walter Reed Medical Center and most recently, Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C. He retired in 2012. Charles married Loesje Edwards (originally from the Netherlands) in 1993 in Chicago, IL. The couple's careers landed them in cities across the country, including Charleston, S.C., Charlotte, N.C., Ormond Beach, Fla and Washington, D.C., before relocating to Raleigh, N.C., in 2012. A jazz aficionado and scholar, Mr. Troglia donated his extensive collection of books on the genre to Indiana University's School of Music Library. A collection of his poetry was recently published. Over the past three years, Mr. Troglia pursued his love of books, reading 130 volumes via audio cartridges courtesy of the Library for the Blind. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Loesje Troglia; brothers Paul (Jeanne) Troglia, John (Mary) Troglia; brother-in-law Peter (Jody) Edwards; nephews Tom Troglia, Mike (Sally) Troglia, Peter (Hillary) and Jim (Kelsey) Edwards; nieces Angela (Dan) Fatla and Megan (Andrew) Bowman; grandnieces Lily Fatla and Elizabeth Troglia; grandnephews Jack Fatla, Nicholas Troglia and George Burdine -Troglia. A Funeral Mass was held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2718 Overbrook Dr. Raleigh, N.C. A private interment will be held in Milwaukee, WI.
