1936 - 2018 Notice Condolences
Charlotte E. Halfman Notice
Halfman, Charlotte E. (Nee Schroeder) Entered Eternal Life on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the age of 82 with her family at her side. She was born on September 21, 1936 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to parents Victor and Violet (nee Guell) Schroeder. Charlotte graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac in 1954. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years Richard "Dick", her children; daughter Linda Pankow and son Bradley, her son-in-law Timothy Pankow, her daughter-in-law Nancy Halfman, her grandchildren; Andrew (Lizle) Halfman, Elizabeth Halfman, Samuel Pankow, John Pankow and great grandson Ethan Halfman. Fond sister-in-law of Elinor (Ralph) Johnson, Robert (Jean) Halfman, Mary (Howard) Heimerman, Judith McKenna, Maureen (Enie) Halfman and Michael (Judith) Halfman. Fond aunt of Rebecca (Thomas) Krause and Kristen (Thomas) McCulloch. Beloved niece of Athleen Butzke and Betty Guell. She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Violet Schroeder and her brother, Cordell Schroeder. Charlotte's family were farmers near Lamartine, Wisconsin and Dick's family had a grocery store nearby. On Sundays after church, the Schroeder family would stop at the grocery store, so Charlotte and Dick knew each other from early childhood. Charlotte had several careers, but her most important career was being a wonderful loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She has been Dick's soul mate and confidant during all of their married life together. Charlotte has joined those members of her family who have gone before her to heaven and is now rejoicing with them. Charlotte was the administrative assistant and office manager for 25 years at Blower Application Company in Germantown, Wisconsin before retiring in 1999. Charlotte and Dick have been very active members of Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Milwaukee for over 56 years, and also as volunteers with WELS Kingdom Workers. After retirement, Charlotte and Dick spent a year in Russia assisting the WELS missionary pastors there. They loved to travel and, in addition to their time in Russia they have been fortunate to visit most of the 50 United States and many foreign countries. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at SALEM LUTHERAN CHURCH, 6840 N. 107th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53224 and on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the church followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Private burial will take place at Rienzi Cemetery, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. A special thank you by Charlotte's family to the staff of Aurora at Home Hospice Care, especially Kathy, Jill, Sarah, Dawn, Jerry and Chaplain John, for their wonderful, compassionate assistance so that we were able to keep Charlotte at home with us. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Salem Lutheran Church or Kingdom Workers, N19 W24075 Riverwood Drive, Suite 200, Waukesha, WI 53188-1170, would be appreciated.
