Rapkin, Doreen On Monday, January 7, 2019, Doreen Rapkin, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 71, after complications of late stage cancer. She passed just 2 days shy of her 72nd birthday, surrounded by loved ones. Doreen was born on January 9, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Helen and Max Waisman. She was passionate about reading, old movies, mah jongg, taking long walks in the sun and spending time with her daughters and beloved grandsons. Doreen was known for her extraordinary sense of humor, infectious laugh and free spirit. Doreen was preceded in death by her mother Helen Waisman, her father Max Waisman, and her sister Barbara Eisenberg. She is survived by her two children Jodie Demetrius and Marnie Kamensky, her son- in-laws James Demetrius and Matthew Kamensky, her grandsons Zachary and Ethan Kamensky, her brother Stan Waisman (Pat), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She recently moved to Denver, Colorado so that she could be with her daughters, and thus there will be no services held in Milwaukee.
