Friedrich A. "Fritz" Weiler Notice
Weiler, Friedrich A. "Fritz" Passed away unexpectedly while at home on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at the age of 61. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents, Heinrich and Theresia (nee Goetz) of Ubstadt, Germany. Fritz will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 40 years, Marise (nee Schlapper), loving daughters Jennifer (Joel) Smith, Kristina (Zer) Xiong, Susanne (Jim) Bowen. Fritz was the cherished "Papa" of Paighten, Brandon, Maeggan, Mira Mai, Kylie, Ethan and Nolan, dear brother of Gertrud (Ludwig) Zimmermann and Herbert (Lucia) Weiler of Ubstadt, Germany, supportive brother-in-law of Gayle Schlapper and Julie Yelle, caring uncle of Peter (Robyn), Tom (Leslie) and Dan (Jill) Zimmermann; Claus (Sabine), Doris, Nicole and Sandra Weiler; Rebecca (Brian) Cottrell and Rachel Yelle. Further missed by many other wonderful relatives, neighbors and friends. Fritz was welcomed into the home of his sister and brother-in-law upon immigrating to America in 1964. After graduating from Waukesha South High School in 1968, he embraced the American Dream of family, home and dedication. He became a skilled machinist and devoted employee of Springdale Tool and Machine Co. for 45 years. After family, soccer was his passion. He eventually became a member of The Bavarian Soccer Club of Milwaukee. Over time established himself as a well respected midfielder. In 2008 Fritz was inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame. Volunteerism was part of Fritz's fabric. For over 25 years he volunteered at GermanFest by grilling rollbraten. In 2001 he was recognized for donating over 100 pints of blood to the Milwaukee Blood Center. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt. Fritz was also a tree farmer spending his free time up North planting many memories with his family. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation of blood to help another's life or a memorial to the family. Memorials will be used according to their needs and Fritz's wishes to support the Bavarian Soccer Club Memorial Fund and other charities. We are comforted by knowing that Fritz's "Smokey Cat" is with him now. Ein Prosit! A Celebration of Fritz's life will be held from 1PM until 3:45PM on Sunday, January 8, 2012, followed by a 4PM Service at CHURCH AND CHAPEL, 380 Bluemound Rd. (Hwys J and JJ) Waukesha, WI. Inurnment is private.
