O'Rourke, Gerald J. "Jerry" He was born September 29, 1937, to Gerald "Doc" and Ruth O'Rourke. God brought him home on July 31, 2010. Jerry grew up in Wauwatosa, WI, attending St. Sebastian's Catholic Church and grade school. He graduated from Marquette University High School in 1955 and then went on to graduate from Marquette University with a degree in engineering. Jerry met his wife and best friend, Donna Dodge, during college and they married in 1959. Jerry is lovingly survived by his four children, Erin (Mitch) Dann, Jim (Maike), John, and Jeff (Tasha) O'Rourke; and eight grandchildren, Ben (18), Rhiley (15), Maggie (13), Grace (12), Morgan (8), Avery (8), Anna (7) and Jadi (3). He is also lovingly remembered by his sister Patricia (Richard) Schott, his brother James (Carol), and many nieces and nephews. After graduation in 1960, Jerry joined the small family business, A&A Mfg. Co. He took a leadership position soon after and guided the company forward until his retirement in 2000. A&A manufactures protective coverings for machinery and equipment and has facilities in: New Berlin WI, Valparaiso IN, and North Haven CT. After retirement, Jerry moved to Jackson, WY to pursue his passion for snow skiing. He split his retirement between Wyoming and San Diego, CA. In 2005, Jerry suffered a major stroke due to complications of heart surgery. While most of his remaining days were spent in San Diego, Jerry recently traveled to Milwaukee to attend reunion festivities at Marquette University High School. Putting to practice his Jesuit philosophy and leadership skills, Jerry served on several Boards including: Marquette University, YMCA, Children's Hospital, Marquette University High School, Teton Science School and Westmoor Country Club. "Teach us to give and not count the cost"-St. Ignatius Visitation Thursday, Aug. 5, at the funeral home from 5 to 7PM. Visitation Friday, Aug. 6, at Gesu Church, 1145 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, from 11:30AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1PM, graveside services at Calvary Cemetery. A reception will follow. Church Parking: Lot F enter off 12th St between Wisconsin Ave. and Wells St. or the parking structure on Wells St., located on the corner of 13th and Wells. For Handicapped Parking arrive at the church entrance and you will be assisted. Memorials to Children's Hospital, Marquette University, or Marquette University High School appreciated.
