I wouldn't be the man I am today if it wasn't for Major Totzkes constant push to better myself. I never had a teacher who wanted me to suscceed more then her.

Dear Amy, Rich and Family:

We are so sorry for your loss. Jeanie was a wonderful and lively woman! We were very lucky to have known her. I remember always hanging out with your mom and Schweder at Jan's parties or up North to discuss our students and school experiences. She brought great joy to all who knew her. You and your family are in our prayers daily. We hope that you will find the strength to surpass this loss. If there is anything we can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask.

Love,

George and Laura Gutierrez

Amy and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories when we grew up at your house. Your Mom opened her house to all of us. She will be greatly missed.

You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Amy and Family:

You probably don't remember me, but I am Candy (Lampros) Grauman. Uncle Bert Lampros was your Grandma Esther Simkins' Brother, married to Aunt Pauline.

I don't know if your Mother ever told you about our very special weekend when she was attending school at Western Michigan University. They had a "Little Sister's Weekend", and she asked me to come stay with her and be her "Little Sister". You see, Linda had Roxie as a Little Sister, but your Mother didn't have a little sister. Although all of us (Linda, your Mother, Roxie and I) had spent a lot of time together before that, I will always remember that weekend, because your Mother actually introduced me as her little sister, and, it made me feel so important. Unfortunately, I hadn't spoken with your Mother in a long time, but I did keep in touch through the "grapevine".

I just know that she was one of the best people I had ever known, I feel very privileged to have known her, and I was very proud to be her Cousin.

Her death is a great tragedy, and her smile and love of life will always be remembered.

Love, Candy

Amy and family,

I feel very blessed to have known and worked with your mom at Jerusalem. Jean and I were on some committees and I was always amazed at how organized she was, and always willing to help with any project.

You know our small congregation is like a family and we are all in shock and hurting at our loss, yet I cannot comprehend the pain you and your grandparents are experiencing. Please remember that your mom touched the hearts of everyone she met. She always greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word. She was one of the people who saw a need and filled it without looking for any recognition. Jean was loved by all of us and we will never forget her.

I worked with Jean for six years at St. John's Military Academy. I will forever remember her as a smart, fun and positive woman. I can't imagine how much she will be missed by her family and at the Academy, not only as a great teacher, but also as a friend and mentor.

Her family is in my thoughts and prayers during these difficult times.

Amy & Family ~

I am so sorry for your loss. Growing up I always thought your mom was one of the best. She always had a place in her home and heart for everyone. Your house was always the place to be. Either for sleepovers, camp-outs, or swimming. She was always willing to cart all of us girls all over town to the movies or to the mall. She definately was a really special lady. I feel lucky to have known her. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Jeannie

We've been friends for 15 years now and it is so hard to believe you're gone. The unthinkable has happened to you; a kind, gentle, fun, loving person .We met when we both moved to Delafield at about the same time. We became good friends and we also met a host of your other friends and old neighbors. You and Dave added new people to your long list of friends but never eliminated any of the old. After you lost Dave you continued on with such determination and strength , it was truely inspiring. You never missed a get together, and it was your smile and fun personality that made everyone else smile. The boys at St. Johns were so special to you, and you were a real gift to all of them. Our hearts are aching for your beautiful daughter Amy and those darling grandsons you were so proud of. Jeannie, you have been a dear friend, and we will never forget you.

All our love, Nancy and Ron Nerby

Words cannot explain how sorry we are for your loss. We were so fortunate to get to know your mom as well as we did. She was a wonderful woman and so much fun.

Please know that we continue to be here for you, Rich, Gavin and Chase and will always be...for whatever any of you may need.

We pray daily that you find the strength you need to work through this very difficult time. Always remember...you are not alone, but surrounded by those who love you!

AMY

I WISH THERE WAS MORE I COULD SAY OR DO

AS I HAVE NO IDEA OF YOUR PAIN.

YOUR MOTHER WAS A PERSON I COULD CONFIDE IN. WE SHARED MANY LAUGHS AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH TIME PASSED BETWEEN CONVERSATIONS, IT SEEMED AS THOUGH SHE WAS STILL RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET.

I HAVE ALWAYS CONSIDERED HER ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS FOR THE LAST 30 YEARS.

I had first met Jean when she won Teacher of the Year at St. John's and we would get together subsequently after that at my brother, Joe Niemczyk's, house for the end of the school year bbq and beginning of the school year pig roast. She was a wonderful person to talk to and always had a smile on her face when I saw her. She will be missed greatly by the entire staff and student body at St. Johns and the "miscellaneous" friends like myself who had the opportunity to have had her in their lives at some point in time. The hard task of healing starts now with celebrating her life, love and laughter and trying to push the pain away. Her family will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

Jean you were a big part of what we believe in and we thank you for what you have done for all of us.

You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Amy and family,

I am so deeply saddened by the death of your mom. I worked with your mom at SJNMA and knew her to be a very giving person. She always had a smile on her face and was always willing to help out wherever she could.

Her untimely death leaves us all with deep sadness but I also know that she is in a better place. I feel blessed to have known her.

You and your family remain in my prayers as you go through these difficult times. May God surround you with his love.

Amy- I remember babysitting for you in Westchester, OH. It was my first job in the neighborhood. I later house-sat for your parents a couple of times in Marietta, GA. I remember that your parents were two of the nicest people I could ever meet. The last time I saw Jeannie, she visited after the birth of our 3rd Daughter and brought a present not only for her, but our twins as well. She had such a warm personality and always had a smile on her face. Even though I have not seen her in a long time know that she will be sorely missed by not only by me and my wife, but by the twins who were only 6 and still remember the unexpected gift from her. My mom and Jeanie Marek are planning to drive up for the service and will be there on Tuesday.

Gloria Jean was one of my students at Cardinal Stritch University. She had set a goal for herself to earn her master's degree, even though she believed she was "too old" to do so. She worked hard to meet her goal and was so proud when she did. I enjoyed working with Gloria Jean because she always came to class with a smile and showed compassion for others. She loved her students and talked about them with respect and concern. I will miss Gloria and I'm sure there are many others who will as well. My deepest sympathy to Gloria's family and friends.
