Grammy Hattie was adored by her grandchildren, Gina Jacobsen, Susanna Leggio, Noah Kapp, Taylor Marr, Tony Handzlik, Michael Handzlik, Lauren Handzlik and "almost" grandchild Michael Anne Adriano. Hattie was born in Austria, October 16, 1921, to parents Veronica and John Zwicker, emigrated to the US when she was 6 years old and grew up in Milwaukee, attended Holy Angels grade school and North Division high school where she was twice prom queen. After high school she worked at Usingers, was a long term employee of The Grand and of the Electrical Contractors Association. She played tennis and golf, remaining active and health conscious for the rest of her life. Hattie met the love of her life, Anthony Handzlik and remained joyfully married for 72 years. During that time, Hattie was involved with Christ King Parish, and a long term member of the Christian Mothers. She was a talented seamstress and knitter, and passed down her talent in interior design to her daughters. She was known for her style and grace often wearing creations of her own design. Her quick wit and understated sense of humor kept everyone of all ages entertained. Hattie has now been reunited with her mother and sister, lost in early childhood and her beloved Tony whom she lost in December 2017. The family expresses their deep appreciation of the dedication of the entire staff at the Care-Age of Brookfield. Memorial Service: Tuesday, May 22 at Christ King church, 2604 N Swan Blvd, Wauwatosa.
