Kaiser, Herbert John Retired US Navy CDR Herbert J 'Herb' Kaiser Born into eternal life on June 7, 2018, at the proud age of 90. Herb was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin March 7, 1928, to the late Lawrence and Ottilie Kaiser. Beloved husband of the late Patricia. Loving and devoted father of John (Jacqueline) Kaiser, Tom (the late Sue) Kaiser, Mary Lou Kaiser-Sharpe, Kathy (Tom) Yoss, and Vickie (Tim) Donohue. Preceded in death by his son Joe, daughter-in-law Sue Kaiser, and grandson Alex Yoss. A proud and supportive grandfather to John (Maren), Jason, Alex, Kristen (Jake), Lauren, Amanda, Tori, Kailey, Emily, Steve, Maddie, Matt, Ryan and Patrick. Loving great-grandfather to Joey and soon to be baby girl Kaiser. Further survived by sister Betty Altpeter, other relatives and friends. He was a graduate of the Marquette University High School and the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. Herb proudly served in the US Navy and Reserves for over 20 years. He retired as the last Commanding Officer of the USS Cobia currently located in Manitowoc, WI. Herb was employed with Allis Chalmers as an engineer for thirty years in the pump and turbine division. He was an avid bridge player, stamp collector, sailor, skier, ice skater, competitive chess player, loved his wine and chocolate and the occasional trip to Potawatomi Casino. Herb was active in his parish, St. Dominic's as a scout leader, Holy Name Society member and coached school sports. He also volunteered with the Military Officer's Association of America, Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the St. Camillus Community. Above all he enjoyed his children grandchildren, giving advice, and counting his blessings. Fair winds and following seas to our beloved father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. The family would like to thank the staff at San Camillo for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jesuit Community at St. Camillus, 10101 Wisconsin Ave., Wauwatosa, WI 53226 or St. Camillus Foundation, Inc. 10200 W. Bluemound Road, Wauwatosa, WI 53266 are appreciated. The visitation will be held in the Main Chapel at San Camillo, 10200 W. Bluemound Rd., in Wauwatosa on Friday, June 15, from 3 PM until time of the Funeral Mass at 5 PM.
