Crowley, MD, William J. William J Crowley, MD, 91, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents Dr William T & Grace M (Doran) Crowley and his sister Patricia A Faupl. Survived by his brother John T (Delores) Crowley. Uncle to Ann Faupl, Tim Faupl, Kevin (Peggy) Crowley, John (Kim Huberty) Faupl, Lisa (Bill) Westling, Shawn (Brian) Johnson, Brian (Laurie) Crowley, Paul (Mary) Crowley, Michael (Colleen) Crowley, Megan Crowley, Erin (Greg) Piefer, Bill (Kelly) Crowley. Great uncle to Nicholas, Deidre, Kiernan, Jillian, Conor, Bennett, Ellen, Aidan, Tess and Natalie. Good friend of John Janus. Also survived by many other relatives and friends. After graduating Marquette High School, Bill enlisted in the Navy, serving two years. Returning to Milwaukee after his discharge, he enrolled in Marquette University Medical School. Bill found his calling in Psychiatry where he specialized in adolescent and forensic psychiatry. Bill spent the majority of his career working at the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex. Bill was a man of wide ranging interests and passions. He was an avid water skier, sailor and pilot. An outstanding downhill skier, he had "the best time of my life" skiing Indianhead. He loved cars and raced in many rallies and competitions at the Milwaukee Mile and Elkhart Lake. He was also an accomplished musician in everything from Big Band, to Folk, to Traditional Irish music. He performed in local bands in the Milwaukee area and spent four summers with the Grand Canyon North Rim House Band. Proud of his Irish heritage, he was a member of the Irish Cultural & Heritage Center. He also enjoyed magic and was a member of the Houdini Club. A lover of animals, he was a longtime supporter of the ASPCA. With all of his interests and passions he readily shared them with his family and others. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM with service to follow at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10121 W North Ave, Wauwatosa, on Saturday, June 16. Bill's family invites friends to a celebration of his life at the Irish Cultural & Heritage Center, 2133 W Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, from 3:30 to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bill's memory to the ICHC and ASPCA.
