Harold E. "Harry" Harmann Notice
Harmann, Harold E. "Harry" Longtime Hartland resident passed away peacefully on July 3, 2014, age 95. Began career as a dairy farmer moving to the meat business operating Harmann Meats from 1946 until 1973 and also raising strawberries and nursery sod. Enjoyed fastpitch softball, bowling, golf and sheepshead. Member of HAAA, instrumental in starting the Hartland slow pitch softball leagues. Preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Ruth (Guilfoile). Survived by his children Sue (Dan) Alft, Mark (Barbara) Harmann, Patti Jahnke, Jim (Patti) Harmann and Barb Harmann. Further surviving are 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition Harry was preceded in death by his grandson Mitch, his brother Clarence and his sister Eleanor. Funeral Mass 6 PM on Tuesday at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Hwy 83, North Lake. Visitation 4-6 PM. Final rest St. Clare Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HAAA or the Monches Recreation Department.
