What an eclectic, wonderful nephew. He appreciated Beavis and Butthead, Ray Charles (way before that was cool), early Green Day, and subtitled French movies. My favorite memory: for sister Deanna's HS graduation, Matt cleared out his summer bedroom (in Grandma Bayley's house) for me and my son Andy's visit--clean sheets, stack of good books, nightlight...the works. He was so concerned that our accomodations would be suitable. I would have loved to see his "recommended reading" table at his first library job.

Bayley was a really great guy who I met and hung out with at UW-Whitewater. Matt and I have many similar interests and I really enjoyed talking to him about issues related to history and politics. Bayley always had smart things to say and was someone who was always willing to give advice and share his ideas with those willing to listen. My thoughts go out to his family and I hope everyone will remember Bayley for the great guy he was.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bayley while attending Whitewater, and met him at first through WUP. We quickly became friends due to our similar interests in history and politics. He was one of those few genuinely good people. Excellent conversation was never lacking in his presence. I regret not being able to make the funeral, but my heart goes out to the family and close friends.

Hi - I am Matt's Aunt Joanne. Thank you for all your kind words about Matt - Our family will miss him so much. His job at Skyway Airlines was so important to him - he loved the excitement of travel. I have fond memories of our travels to Disneyworld (not his style), Seattle (definitely his style), and out epic history trip to DC. We so enjoyed his quick hops to MPLS - our last outing was to see the Bob Dylan exhibit here -

I spent 1970 - 1971 at UW-Whitewater and am happy that Matt found so many friends there - in addition to a great education.

We will miss you Matt and all your knowledge about politics, music, and movies.

Bayley was a great man. The kind of guy who was always worried about answering questions in class, but also the kind that was afraid to debate with you about well whatever... a talented, sweet, fun boy and I am happy I had the privelage of knowing him, attending college with him and even the occasional party! Much love Bayley.

To everyone who knew Matthew Bayley,
how limited our time was to be with you, I didnt realize, but I think everyone you have met has been touched postively by you. Let us keep on living for Bayley and ourselves. He was one of those rare, kind-hearted and amazingly understanding people who valued each person for who they were. hugs.

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Matt through out his time at Skyway. It was truly an honor watching him grow from his interview to the point he was taken, tragically, from us. During my time with Matt, he was able to broaden my horizons in regards to music, movies, and literature. His wealth of knowledge, humor, and incite will be forever remembered. Please know that his colleagues have spent the last few days reminiscing, of our various experiences with Matt. Many stories have been shared, all of which punctuated with a hearty laugh or, at the very least, consoling smile. Please know that my heart and prayers go out to your family in this time of need. You are all at the forefront of our minds.

Matt was a kind and gentle soul. His exceptional brilliance was a gift to our department. I have never met anyone who completely understood our insanely complicated job within a few minutes! His work ethic made him a joy to manage. He was loved by all who were lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work with him and he will be missed. He truly was a beautiful mind taken from the world far too soon.

Dear Bayley Family,

Conveying my sincerest apologies in this tragic time simply does not seem to be enough. Having worked with Matt for the better part of a year was an experience that will be carried with me through all of my days. Matt’s wit and wisdom, combined with his relaxed demeanor was truly a unique experience, and will be forever appreciated. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours in this time of need. Please know, it is felt we too, have lost a member of our family. Many of his colleagues and co-workers have made specific calls or special trips into work, if only to stop down to convey their sympathies. He will be dearly missed and affectionately remembered. Our hearts go out to you and yours in this time of need.

Dear Bayley Family,

I am sad to hear of matt's passing. I grew up down the road from you. My parents still live on Territorial Dr. (Bob & Cheryl Robran) I remember babysitting for Matt, Bridget, and Deanna. Please take comfort in knowing that many caring prayers and people are always near by.

Dear Bayley family,
I am a flight attendant at Skyway Ailines. Matt was one of the kindest people working in crew scheduling. I would tell him he needed to be a lot tougher with the crews when he called them into fly (something we're not fond of doing). Matt was always so courteous and caring. I will miss him, as he was so easy to talk to. I used to go down to scheduling and chat with Matt after flying and bring him the leftover cookies!

He will be sadly missed by us all. Please accept my sincere condolences.
