Judith Kahn Obituary

Kahn, Judith (Nee Ottenstein) December 6, 2008, age 64 years of Naples, FL and Fox Point. Beloved wife of Richard Kahn. Preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Jerry Weil. Dear mother of Jeffrey (Monica) Weil, Joseph (Christine) Weil and step-mother of Julie (Brad) Squires, Michael (Margaret) Kahn. Fond sister of the late Stanley Ottenstein. Loving grandmother of Justin and Jessica Weil; Jordan and Jared Weil; Erin Squires; Kathleen, Robert and Peter Kahn. Further survived by other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Oncology Alliance and Columbia Hospice for the kind and passionate treatment Judi received. Judi was a fun-loving, vibrant, cheerful person who loved life to its fullest. Gumma had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and was always doing things with them. Not only was Judi an artist, but she also loved teaching children about famous artists and developed special programs for children at the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Mequon Jewish Preschool. She also loved children's books and managed the children's book department at Audubon Court Books. As a volunteer, Judi helped students at schools in Milwaukee and Naples, Florida. Judi was a friend to everyone she met, and always cared for others before herself. Her smile lit up a room and her warmth lifted our hearts. We love you Gumma. Funeral services 11:00 AM Monday, December 8, 2008, at Congregation Sinai, 8223 N. Port Washington Rd., Fox Point. Interment Second Home Cemetery, 3705 S. 43 St., Milwaukee. I was so saddened to learn about Judi's passing. I hadn't seen Judi in many years, but I first met her at Sherman Elementary School where we were in the same Brownie Troop. We next hooked up 15 years later at UWM, where we became very good friends and had so much fun hanging out together. I also was a bridesmaid at her wedding in the late sixties. After I left Milwaukee, we saw each other only a handful of times, but Judi will always have a place in my heart. She was a lovely person with an enormous heart and such positive energy in spite of the many challenges she faced in life. May she rest in peace.
My deepest condolences to family and friends.

Words can not describe the love we have for Gumma.
She touched everybody in such a positive way. I know I could not have asked for a better Mother-In-Law. She was so much more than that to me. She was a teacher full of wisdom, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, a warm hug to say hello. Judi is a beautiful soul. She's the mother to the Love of my life and was one of the Best Friends I ever had.
I will miss her dearly. Memories of her warm smile and vibrant spirit will forever remain in my heart.
Her generosity and caring I can only hope to duplicate. I love you Gumma!
