I first met Kate when I worked at St. Francis. She would bring her nursing students in for clinicals. We would sit in L&D and chat in the mornings. She had such a passion for teaching those new nurses!! Then we met again as we were both starting a new journey at AWP. It was such a comfort to see such a friendly face amongst so many new ones. Kate had such a calming, quiet, but strong presence. She loved her family, her work, and life itself. I will miss our nights at work sharing bread and butter during our brief breaks from patients. I will miss her beautiful voice. I am honored to have had the opportunity to have had her in my life. My deepest sympathies to Dan and all of her children. May your memories of her bring you some comfort.

When I hear Kate's name, I think of a caring and expert nurse and good friend. With the night shift being a place for newer staff to start out, Kate was a constant for us. A constant calmming voice, a second opinion on a patient situation or a monitor strip. She is missed. I am thankful that I was able to take break time with Kate and get caught up on personal matters on Friday when we last worked. My sympathies to her family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't begin to express the sadness I feel for you all. Kate was my mentor when I first started at CMH. She always had a calming presence and was always cheering me on when I was training. Today as I was thinking about Kate and I remembered before starting at CMH I was in a car accident and was 9 months pregnant. She came rushing down to the ER to make sure my unborn daughter was ok. She walked into the room and I instantly felt at ease with her. She will be remembered as a caring, calm, sweet lady. Shannon and family you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Kate was one of my nurses when I gave birth to my daughter, 10 months ago (May 13, 2012 MOTHERS DAY). When I came in the hosptail we look at each other and said where do we know each other from. Come to find out her mother lives where I work at (HPS) and seen each othere a few times. I must say she was a very great nure. She took the time to rub my big belly as I was in so much pain due to my contractions I was having at 35 wks.I just seen Kate at my job leaving from visting with her mother, she ask to see a picture of my daughter and couldnt believe how big she has got. It seems so unreal. You are now with your ANGELS!! May god bless the family!!

Kate, my friend, you were a cherished and loved coworker. You would so often get my patients at change of shift .We would share a tidbit about our lives to each other. What I took from this, was you were a strong, gentle, quiet spirit who had a calming presence. It was an honor to know you and thank you- I will see you again. God Bless your family.
