Also survived by great-grandchildren, Jacoby Purviance and Aven McDaniel, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orson Llewellyn Olsen and Lenora Hansen, his first wife, Margaret Pauline, (nee Harmon) and a son, Ren Harmon Olsen, a brother, Earl Olsen of Pocatello, Idaho, two sisters, Ione (Merle) Cox of Santa Clara, California, Edna (Earl) Moyes of Fruit Heights, Utah, two sisters-in-law, Gertrude (Mrs. Earl) Olsen of Pocatello, Idaho, and Faye (Mrs. Roy) Olsen of Preston, Idaho. He flew some of the longest flights in the South Pacific, and was well known for his exploits known as his 13 Incidents, where but for the grace of God, he should not have returned from the war. He graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and worked for 16 years at Allis Chalmers before forming his own company, Olsen Engineering, where he was President. His clients included some of the most well-known companies in Wisconsin including Allen Bradley, Patrick Cudahy, The Veterans Administration, Allis Chalmers, and Pieper Electric. He was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings including Director of the Family History Center, Scout Master, Temple Worker, Director of the Stake Record Extraction Program, Counselor in the Stake Sunday School, and Ward Missionary three times in the Milwaukee area, and once when he was sent by Allis Chalmers to a project in Princeton, New Jersey, he also was the mission President of the State of New Jersey. He had a lifelong love for engineering, genealogy, missionary work, and his family. In later life he became a vegetarian and was an advocate for healthy eating. He died after a valiant bout with congestive heart failure and pneumonia. He will be sorely missed by his wife, Charlotte who gave him the title "Most Wonderful," and by his choice posterity and many friends and business associates. Ren was looked up to for many years as an example to follow. I will always remember his smile and warm personality. He will be missed.

I remember asking Ren for a priesthood blessing when I was concerned that my health would prevent me from serving a full time mission. He asked if I could wait until the next day because he wanted to fast and pray in preparation.

After receiving his inspired blessing and wise dietary counsel my health issues were resolved and I was able to serve successfully.

Lorenzo has been a faithful friend of mine for over 40 years and I will miss him.
