Kenneth Bierbach Obituary

Bierbach, Kenneth R. Of South Milwaukee, Born To Eternal Life February 2, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of Audrey Bierbach for 67 years. Loving father of Thomas (Theresa Bellone), Peter (Linda), Robert (Vicki), Andrew (Pam), and Timothy Bierbach. Proud grandfather of Hunter, Simon, Kyle (Lauren Bobrowicz), Joshua (Ashley), Dustin, Gunnar, and Jared. Dear brother of Werner (the late Carol) Bierbach. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 6, at 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church. 800 Marquette Ave. South Milwaukee. Visitation on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of Mass at church. Interment Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Ken proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Thomason, DE203. During his life he touched many people with his giving. He was a swim instructor and life guard at the high school in South Milwaukee for many years, as well as a swim coach for the South Milwaukee Swim Club in it's beginning stages. Ken was a teachers aide helping children learn to read at Rawson School. He volunteered his time driving patients to their hospital appointments. Ken worked at Staff Electric Company for 40 years. He retired at age 62. He was a Founding Father of St. Sylvester's Church. He donated his time and skills as an electrician to help build the church. Ken had a great love of sailing. Any free time he had was spent on his boat on Lake Michigan. Also, the mention of Cabin 5 in Hayward, WI brings a lot of fond memories to us all, as that was his and our favorite destination for over 50 years. We all grew up there on Lac Courte Oreilles. His last few years were spent caring for his wife who is in declining health. To his sons, daughters-in-law, and grandsons, he was a teacher, a mentor, and a role model like none other. As a devout husband, father, and grandfather, he will truly be missed.

Andy, Tim, and other family members. In junior high I used to go up to the high school during public swim, and your father supervised the pool area. I remember him to be a very friendly and helpful person. Just a really nice person. From what I read about your father from other's comments hear, he indeed was helpful and kind to many. It must be a great loss to your family. His goodness no doubt is mirrored in each of you and remembered by the many he touched. My sympathies to all of you!

Ken was a very good friend. I only met Ken 6 or 7 years ago through a mutual friend, Don and Joan Peterson.
Ken volunteered to help me exercise increasing my mobility through my paralysis. Besides his outgoing personality, Ken volunteered to help with whatever he could. He shared many a story about when he helped in the South Milwaukee School District. I also helped at faucet in school for kindergarten, first & second grade.
We also had an area of common interest in that we were both U.S. Navy veterans. Although Ken is 19 years my senior we both had many "sea stories" to tell. A lot of them were quite humorous but only tales another sailor would understand. We had a lot of fun together.
Ken & Audrey, Don & Joan and me and my wife Lori managed to go out to dinner a couple of times a year. Ken was so predictable he would always order fried chicken. 2 or 3 of us would tell the waitress what he was going to order before he could. We always got a kick out of that, and so did Ken.
I am going to miss Ken.

I have so many fond memories spent with Mr. B and the family some of which were haircuts in the back yard and grocery runs for Mrs. B. So sorry to hear of his passing.
