Dale A. Williams

1925 - 2016

Williams, Dale A. Age 90, of Whitewater, Wisconsin passed away on, June 3, 2016 at the Fort Memorial Hospital. Dale was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on August 12, 1925, the son of James R. and Ruth I. (Weinberg) Williams. He graduated from Austin High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1943. On September 7, 1947, Dale married Lois M. Weintz in Chicago, Illinois. In 1973, the family moved to the Whitewater area. Dale and his business partner began the Verlo Mattress Company in 1967 in Chicago, IL, which was named in honor of their wives and was the combination of the partner's wives names Verna and Lois. Dale built and flew airplanes and loved carpentry including crafting violins and furniture making. He put together and played a pipe organ as a hobby. Dale also enjoyed roller skating, ice skating, skiing, his roses, and long haired dachshunds. Surviving are: Son: David (Pamela) Williams, Whitewater, and Two grandchildren: Julia (Peter) Kendl, Milwaukee, WI, and Theresa Williams, Delavan, WI; Brother: Darrell (Bernadette) Williams, Florida, and close friends: Tina Mandel, Whitewater, Edith Richter, and Barbara Kamrath; other relatives and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and daughter, Janice. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 550 N. Newcomb Street, Whitewater, WI with Rev. Kimberly Brumm officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin.
