Kohler, Michael P. Died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday April 9, 2017, at age 42. Adored son of Connie (nee Ryba) and Don Kohler. Beloved grandchild of Shirley Ryba. Devoted husband of Laurie (nee Young) Kohler. Amazing father of Abigail and Madeline Kohler. Loving big brother of Amy (Dana) Garrigan. Dear son-in-law of Walter and Marilyn Young and brother-in-law of Michael (Sheila) and Brian (Tina) Young. Fun uncle to Katie and Lucy Garrigan and Daniel Young. Lifelong best friend to Mark Veth. He will be affectionately remembered by his family and countless dear friends and colleagues. Michael was a 1996 graduate of Marquette University. He taught at Nativity Jesuit Middle School in 1996/1997. In 2000, he graduated from University of Illinois Law School and was employed with Foley and Lardner. He then worked for the Marcus Corporation from 2005 to 2014, first as legal counsel and then as Director of Human Resources for Marcus Hotels and Resorts. In 2014, Michael went to work for Aurora Health Care as Associate General Counsel. He devoted time to teaching and mentoring students at Marquette College of Business, being an involved parent at St. Robert School, and serving as President of the Board of Directors for the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, from 1:30 PM until time of Memorial Mass at 3 PM at GESU CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1145 W. Wisconsin Ave. followed by a reception at Trinity Three Irish Pub, 125 E. Juneau Ave. from 4 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation,, Neu-Life Community Development,, or a Memorial Fund established for his daughters at is deeply appreciated.
